We received a decent deal on the room rate but we found this trip to be well below average and won’t be staying there again. No one picks up the phone when calling the front desk or house keeping and when there was an incident on the floor with an occupant, no one follows up. I have stayed there in the past and it was decent but this trip was sub par. The ‘resort’ had a terrible pool and the grounds were dirty. After several tempts to contact a manager, someone said we only refund the ‘resort’ fee since the accident occurred outside the room…tell that to my boots and room floor. Showboat Hotel is an iconic establishment and landmark hotel that has been on the Atlantic City Boardwalk for over 20 years. I requested a night compensation because we switched rooms 3 times as the first smelled of smoke.
Stockton University purchased the Showboat with the idea of turning it into a full-service residential campus, but the. While I appreciate allowing dogs (we have one as well) then they must be attentive a bit more to these accidents. The Showboat opened as a casino hotel in 1987 and closed in 2014 when its parent company, Caesar’s Entertainment, decided to pull the plug even though the hotel was making a profit to stabilize its other AC casinos. The front desk gave us a new room but provided no help when I asked about getting my boots cleaned. While bringing our luggage from our car into the hotel I stepped in dog poop INSIDE the hotel on the carpet and did not realize it until I tracked it into our room.
